In a city like Dallas that is not known as being particularly pedestrian-friendly, Knox/Henderson stands out as a fun and funky neighborhood with eclectic shops and dynamite restaurants just steps from residents’ doorsteps.
The area is named after the street that stretches the length of the neighborhood – Knox on the west side of Central Expressway, and Henderson on the east side. Surrounded by the M Streets, close to the Park Cities, Downtown Dallas and SMU, the area is a huge draw for young professionals, college students, and young families.
Henderson has long been known for its antique shops and boutiques, and has recently seen a huge boom of new restaurants such as Hibiscus, The Porch, and Sushi Axiom. Many of the establishments have great patios, like Capitol Pub, where you will always find a packed patio on sunny afternoons.
The Knox side of the neighborhood is anchored by large retail stores such as Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, and Z Gallerie – but it also has its fair share of unique eateries and shops. The Katy Trail marks the end of Knox Street and is a huge draw for walkers, runners and bikers throughout Dallas.
